Getting there:
From Likely take Keithley Creek Road east until you get to the bridge over the Cariboo River, this is the Take-out. To get to the put-in continue to the 15km sign (the signs don't start at the bridge) and then turn right onto a side road. This road ends at Cariboo River Falls, but it may be gated before that. Follow the road past the gate until you see a sign or cairn and walk down a foot trail to the put-in below Cariboo Falls (this are no the Cariboo Falls near the Bowron lake Chain).
Description:
The Upper Cariboo starts with a bang. The first 2km are the most difficult. After a short class III warm-up you get to "Bubbleyum" (IV) with big waves and even bigger holes (actually 2 separate drops), followed by "McGirrigator" (III) with two big midstream holes, "Best Western" at an S-bend and "Fluffy Bunny" (III).
There is
another section downstream from here which ends at Quesnel Forks which is a fine place to camp and explore the old buildings.
